Wiltshire County Council founded The Corsham School in 1973 as an 11-18 mixed comprehensive educating children of all abilities from Corsham and the surrounding areas.
The school gained specialist status in the visual arts in September 2003 and met the criteria for High Performing Status in 2006. The second specialism in Maths and ICT provides a dynamic complement to the school’s creative learning ethos.
Heywood Prep is an independent prep school and nursery for boys and girls aged 2 to 11, located in the heart of Corsham, Wiltshire.
The school was founded in 1940 and has been on the present site since 1953. The site is mentioned in the Domesday Book and the grounds still contain part of the ruins of the original priory from which the building and the street in which it stands derive their names. The main school building is a handsome Georgian manor house constructed in 1776. A separate building on the same site, formerly the Corsham Fire Station, houses the Nursery at Heywood Prep.
The school is set in two acres of beautiful gardens where children can explore and play. In addition, there is a playing field, an all-weather sports court, school hall and dining hall. As the only truly independent school in the area, we are well placed to prepare your child for the next stage of their education, whether that is in the independent or state sector.
